St.Gilgen is close to Salzburg - only 30 km or a 35 min drive
away - right in the middle between the lovely Salzkammergut area
and the festival town of Salzburg. The village itself is surrounded
by a unique landscape of mountians and the lake Wolfgang.
Sankt Gilgen is the right starting point to explore the beauty
of the Salzburger Land, Bavaria, the Salzkammergut area
(St.Wolfgang, Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, Gumden, Mondsee,...) or parts
of the Tyrol. The mountains and lakes are ideal for hiking and
walking vacations.
From St.Gilgen it is only approx 150 km to Innsbruck or Linz,
310 km to Vienna oder 130 km to Munich.
The Salzkammergut region is well known for his hospitality, tradition,
nature and cultural events.
